Assuming you are in shape and have trained for it, you…

  1. Research the best trails
  2. Understand the obstacles you face to prepare for them
  3. If needed, consult with others
  4. Come equipped
  5. Take the first step on the path

Yet I find with trying to find solutions people so many people want to jump from the problem –“how will I climb this mountain” to choosing a solution WITHOUT ever examining the problem or mountain itself. They immediately move to “here is what we are going to do.”

Inevitably, this creates more problems as you typically only solve a symptom.

Slow down in order to speed up on creating longer lasting solutions. Sometimes the best questions are simple ones like “What do I know?” Or “What don’t I know that I need to find out?”
