Even though you spend 90% of your time trying to frame the message you are going to say, intuitively the C Suite is reading your body language to decide whether to say yes or no to you.
Some things that convey strength are-
Relaxed squared shoulders. Not rounded down or slouching and not rigid like the military.
Weight balanced slightly more on one foot giving a relaxed stance.
Head straight forward with solid eye contact while talking.
Head slightly tilted when listening to questions. This shows you are calmly taking in what they are saying and not defensive.
If you are unsure what your body language is saying, just ask someone you trust “what are my tell signs with body language that reveal my thoughts?” To change these you need to first change the thought that triggers that body language.
