The most visible difference between tactical thinkers and strategic thinkers is their ability to anticipate.  It is what makes tactical thinkers stick to a “to do” list rather than to re-prioritize or be surprised by events that are not planned, or not think about who to inform about things.

This article lists five other key thinking attributes of strategic leaders.  Go through and rate yourself and each of your team members on their ability to do each of these key strategies.  Then use that as a tool to dialogue with each team member on what they can do to elevate to the next level in their thinking.

One of the constant comments we get from leaders on our Outcome Thinking® Platinum Program is how their entire team jumps in the way they think, speak, and execute in such a short time.  The reason is that we pragmatically show how to build the brain pathways needed to do just that.
