Take a moment this Holiday Season to think about what you can do to reduce the stress in your life as well as those on your team.
I am finding the leaders we work with that are diligent about applying all aspects of Outcome Thinking® in to their lives–from the strategic hour to fool proofing to prioritizing– are all finding they are able to get more done in one day (productivity up between 25-40%) while at the same time reducing the hours they put in at work. It is all about working more creatively and succinctly.
So, I encourage all of you to follow this simple process during the month of December:
1. Study where & when the bottlenecks and crisis crop up
a. Figure out what you can do in ADVANCE to remove the bottleneck
b. Implement an upfront system or action that manages or essentially “controls” what currently seems “uncontrollable”
2. Look at what is on your desk that you don’t need YOU to do
a. Start delegating some of your work down–after all it is your duty to grow the leaders under you and they can’t do that if they don’t have a chance to do some of the work.
b. Set them up for success by being clear about the parameters of the work they are taking on.
Life isn’t about taking more on; it is about doing less tactically and more strategically so you can operate in a manageable space. Make a commitment to change the way you work in 2017 so you put in less work time, more family time, and have the balanced life you deserve!
I wish you all the best this Holiday Season!

Outcome Thinking® Solution
How to Know if You Should or Shouldn’t Use a Question
by Anne Warfield
SITUATION:
How do you put yourself in the other person’s shoes when your thinking process is so different that their way of thinking would not have ever occurred to you?
Example: A presenter began his presentation with questions to which the prospects did not know the answers. Someone pointed out that by doing this his introduction would be insulting to the prospects. That had not even occurred to me! I was intrigued by the questions and wanted to know the answers.
I am thinking that a presentation would need to be vetted by many different people to catch this before it was given to a customer. Is this the only way?
Other Person’s Perspective:
Each audience member wants to feel intelligent and wants to know how they will gain from listening to you.
Thinking it Through Using Outcome Thinking®:
Great question! Let me give you an easy way to know if you should or should not use a question-
Ask yourself, “Would the recipient feel stupid, embarrassed, foolish or defensive if they don’t know the answer?” If the answer to that is YES, then don’t use the question. It is always about making your recipient feel intelligent.
Best Handled/Phrased:
So, educating them on things they can do to impact their business makes them feel smarter. This builds trust as they know any interaction with you will be helpful for them.
Asking them if they know the answer to a question, and they don’t know the answer but you do, makes you appear intelligent and them appear foolish so it doesn’t go over well. This erodes trust as they will then feel it is all about you looking good even at their expense, like you tricked them.
If you are ever in doubt, run it by someone else to see how they feel about it!

What Words Influence Others and Build Trust
Have you ever wished you knew just what to say so someone loved your idea, funded your project or bought from you?
Is there magic to the words you use that either sway a person to an idea or repels them?
In this session you will learn:
• What stops people from listening
• Which words evoke trust
• Which words kill trust
• What you can do to become more influential
You will be surprised to learn which words actually kill trust. Many of these words are used by people who believe they are being persuasive but they are really killing trust! They actually cause people to resist you without them even knowing why they are resisting you.

“I was more focused on my presentation and materials than the action I wanted the audience to take because of what I said (my goals) before attending Managing Your Message.
Now that I’ve learned about Outcome Thinking® I focus more on my goal of what action I want to have happen because of the information I have shared. This seminar is a great hands on opportunity with very valuable feedback and coaching.”
